Anaerobic Workstations

Ruskinn Bugbox anaerobic workstations are designed specifically to help microbiologists cope with rising workloads and provide the best primary isolation rates. Read plates easily without exposing them to oxygen. With quick and easy access via the Ezee Sleeve™ gloveless port system and energy-saving lighting that provides perfect illumination, Bugbox is easy to use. Its compact size meets the needs of even the smallest laboratory spaces. Adjustable temperature and humidity provides a precisely controlled environment that is optimal for cell growth, with no dry spots. Compared wth anaerobic jars, Bugbox is economical with a lower cost per plate, and more reliable, providing a stable atmosphere. .

Bugbox M

Bugbox M microaerophilic workstation packs all of the innovative features into a compact bench print. Incorporating all of the familiar and proven features of the Bugbox, but tailored to interface with the Ruskinn I-CO2N2IC Gas Mixing System to provide accurate and stable control over O2 and CO2. Like the Bugbox, taking just 800mm of bench space with a capacity to incubate up to 200 plates, the Bugbox M is the perfect way to improve isolation rates and is an easy to justify alternative to anaerobic jars, providing a more stable environment. Because most general laboratories inoculate samples with cultures on the bench, samples are transferred at up to 10 at a time in color-coded petri tubes - 15 seconds is all it takes to transfer and guarantee the best isolation rates for your microaerophilic organisms. Add to this a range of optional accessories and you have the most convenient system for incubation of microaerophilics available. The Bugbox M is very affordable and maintenance costs are the lowest in the product class. Learn more about I-CO2N2IC, the gas mixing system from Baker Ruskinn that gives Bugbox M unparalled oxygen control while using up to 40% less nitrogen.

  • Quick and easy direct access with the gloveless, cuffed Ezeeyin™ system.
  • Single plate entry system (SPES) - standard on most models, this mailbox-like slot allows quick side entry or exit of individual plates, bypassing the interlock cycling process.
  • Read plates easily without exposure to oxygen - energy-saving lighting provides perfect illumination.
  • Petri dish holders for quick plate transfer included.
  • Can be built with I-CO2N2IC gas mixing system to offer a microaerophilic environment in which to grow facultative anaerobes.
  • Optimum cell environment
  • Accurate temperature control - from ambient + 5˚C to 45˚C.
    • Accurate and automated humidity control - no dry spots.
    • Palladium catalyst maintains anaerobic environment - plus anaerobic color-indicator strips verify anoxic conditions.
    • Ezee Sleeve™ system allows access without disrupting atmosphere within the chamber.
  • Economic and reliable long-term savings
    • Standard dual gas operation - low gas consumption and running costs.
    • Lower cost per plate compared to anaerobic jars.

Modified Products

At Baker, we pride ourselves on building relationships with customers that have high expectations and exacting specifications. To our customers, there is no such thing as a standard product. That's why we build our laboratory equipment around the way you work. Every Baker product is built for maximum customizability, from the petcocks to the plumbing, the control panel to the finish. Our can-do philosophy is that no laboratory should ever have to accommodate cookie-cutter equipment.
Examples of the kinds of modifications our customers have requested include:

  • Touchscreen controls
  • Removable work surface with deep well to accommodate large cages or equipment
  • Customized cabinet installed on a sailboat for marine toxicology research
  • Microscope-ready cabinet with ergonomic viewing "bubble" around oculars
  • Dished clean bench worksurface
  • All-stainless construction with integrated pass-through (pictured above)
